The Food Network has clearly heard about the delicious food scene going on here in Victoria and will be sending a crew over to shoot for a few clips for episodes of Eat St. this August! Three of our delicious local trucks are on the 'menu': Hungry Rooster, Taco Justice and Deadbeetz!
I was contacted by their researchers (via the lovely Karrie of Deadbeetz) to ask if I could possibly come and spout some drool-worthy enthusiasm for the camera? I calmly said "I think I can handle that!"* while silently doing a little dance of excitement on my end of the phone call. Hello 15 seconds of fame, I am ready for you! Also, while we're in this awkward paragraph of embarrassing self-promotion anyhow, I should probably squeeze in that you may hear my voice if you fly Air Canada this winter in an audio feature called "Canadian Made." Needless to say, the blogging life has been kind of thrilling lately... *grin*
Anyhow, The Eat St. folks also wanted to spread the word that you lovely folks should come down for lunch & show the world (and City Hall! have you emailed Council yet?!) how much we ❤ our food truck scene! Not only might you get on TV, but I've heard the trucks are going to have some fantastic lunch specials. What could be better?!
Here's the filming schedule... hope to see you there!

* I guess I will have to officially give up any pretence that I'm properly "anonymous" anymore, but I think I unofficially gave that up a while back... apparently my shameless promotion of what I love to eat has resulted in genuine affection from other food folk. Thanks, guys... I am thankful to have found, as I have said before, the community I didn't know I was missing! #wiggle
